Distribuzione

Le due specie oggi note di questo genere sono state rinvenute nelle mwdgAmeriche, precisamente nell'areale compreso fra mwdwPanama e l'mweaArgentinacite-ref-salticidae-1-0[1].

Tassonomia

Considerato un sinonimo anteriore di mwfwDonatinus mwgamwgqChickering, 1946 a seguito di uno studio dell'aracnologa mwggGaliano del 1964cite-ref-salticidae-1-1[1].

A giugno 2011, si compone di due speciecite-ref-salticidae-1-2[1]:

• mwjgSimprulla argentina mwkamwkqMello-Leitão, 1940 — Argentina
• mwkwSimprulla nigricolor mwlqmwlgSimon, 1901cite-ref-2[2] — da Panamá al Brasile

Specie trasferite

• mwngSimprulla secunda mwnwSoares & Camargo, 1948; trasferita al genere mwoqProctonemesia mwogBauab & Soares, 1978, a seguito di un lavoro della mwpaGaliano del 1986cite-ref-salticidae-1-3[1].

Sinonimie

• mwraSimprulla nigra mwrq(mwrgChickering, 1946); un lavoro dell'aracnologa Galiano del 1964 su questi esemplari ne ha ravvisato la sinonimia con S. nigricolor mwsamwsqSimon, 1901cite-ref-salticidae-1-4[1].
